Glad You Got to See Me!

“Glad You Got to See Me!” is a painting depicting my late great-grandpa Darwin tending to one of his calves while its mother watches from nearby. I created it as a gift for my Grandpa Ron, his oldest son. Learn more about the story behind this painting in this blog post.

This painting was a memorial commission for a family friend of his late brother that I completed in December 2025.
The client that commissioned this artwork gifted it to his father as a Christmas gift. That Christmas, I received a video of his father’s reaction to my portrait of his late son.
His reaction filled me with profound gratitude and pride in my work and the happiness it can bring to people.
Drum Majors, Is Your Band Ready?

Completed in the same month as “Glad You Got to See Me!,” this self-portrait depicts me in my high school drum major uniform conducting the band. I love this piece, as some of my fondest memories are of my time in band.

This commission was another holiday memorial of a client’s late dog. My favorite part of the painting process for this piece was adding the details of the dog’s fur, and watching it come together on the canvas.
I was honored to be chosen by this client to provide a memory of their beloved pet.
First Meetings
Gouache on paper, 2024
I painted this small gouache illustration as a cover for a card for my significant other.
It’s a depiction of Smokey Row Coffee, where we met for the first time on a blind date in October 2023.
We spoke for 4 hours until the sun set and we needed to leave the café.
We started dating two weeks later and have been together since.

From the same holiday season as the dog commission, this client hired me to recreate an old polaroid image of her and her sister in their father’s arms as children.
The vintage quality of the original reference image made for a warm and pleasant color palette to work with on this piece.

This portrait of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Granda as Elphaba and Glinda in Wicked was my submission for the 2025 Bondurant Blues and Brews Sidewalk Chalk art competition.
I have participated in this competition yearly since 2022, and my favorite part of the experience is chatting with the families who walk by my art while I’m drawing.

Digital, 2023
This digital artwork was commissioned to me by my coworker as a father’s day gift for her husband, who also worked in my office at the time.
He eventually displayed this illustration on his cubicle wall, and I got to enjoy seeing it each time I passed by his desk.
